🔎 Overview

As part of the SUCOMINNO II project, ACPELIA invites you to an exciting environmental education workshop led by Georgios Tsalakos, one of Cyprus’ most innovative educators in science gamification. The "Decathlon of Environment" is a dynamic, team-based experience that brings science, sustainability, and fun together through non-formal educational activities.

🧩 About the Workshop

The Decathlon of Environment features 10 themed table-based game stations, each focusing on a different scientific or environmental concept. Participants will work in teams and rotate through each challenge, gaining points while learning and applying knowledge through experiential learning and gamification.

This workshop is based on real classroom practices used in Cypriot schools and adapted for all audiences—from students to educators and eco-curious adults.

👥 Group Participation

• All activities are designed to be completed in teams.

• Participants can either:

  • Register as a group (up to 5 members), or

  • Register individually and we will assign them to a team on the day of the event.

• Chemistry Challenge Understand the role of chemical reactions in the environment using playful experiments and task cards.

• Biology Match-Up Explore ecosystems through biodiversity cards, food web games, and interactive classification tasks.

• Physics in Action Experience energy transfer, friction, and simple mechanics with fun problem-solving tools.

• Sustainability SimulationPlay a resource-management game where every team must make eco-smart choices to reduce their environmental footprint.

• Eco-Logic RiddlesSolve brain-teasing scenarios based on real environmental dilemmas and scientific principles.

Each station emphasizes teamwork, critical thinking, and creativity, making science accessible and exciting for all.
