🌱 Open Call: 3 Youth Workers for ACPELIA’s Training in Austria!

Project title: "Protect the Environment and your Mental Health through Connection with Nature (PEMEHECON)"

📍 Vienna, Austria

📅 18 February – 1 March 2026

ACPELIA is excited to open a call for three youth workers from Cyprus to take part in an inspiring Erasmus+ training course that will take place in Vienna, Austria, from 18 February to 1 March 2026. This unique training course is part of the Erasmus+ KA153YOU project “PEMEHECON” and is hosted by our Austrian partners, NGO Tredu Club, together with other European youth organizations.

The project focuses on exploring the powerful relationship between mental health, personal well-being, and connection with nature. It combines outdoor education, mindfulness, and environmental awareness to help youth workers build new competences and apply creative methods in their everyday work with young people. Activities will take place in natural spaces around Vienna and will include Forest Theatre, yoga, group reflection, and environmental games, all based on non-formal education methods.

This training aims to equip participants with tools to support the well-being of youth, especially those with fewer opportunities, while encouraging sustainable lifestyles and respect for the environment. Through engaging, nature-based activities, participants will discover how spending time outdoors improves emotional resilience, reduces anxiety, and fosters a sense of community. They will also learn how to use this knowledge to design workshops and educational activities in their local communities.

Participants will stay in Appartements Ferchergasse, centrally located in Vienna with easy access to natural parks and forests. This location was chosen not only for its comfort and accessibility but also because Vienna is officially ranked as the greenest city in the world, offering the ideal setting for a nature-based training program. Learn more about the accommodation here: https://www.rank.at/en/

We are looking for youth workers aged 18 and above, who are active in youth work or non-formal education and are interested in topics such as mental health, nature, outdoor education, inclusion, or creative methods. Experience in facilitation or theatre is welcome but not required. What matters most is motivation and openness to learn and share.

All essential costs of the program are covered by the Erasmus+ grant. This includes travel costs up to €395, accommodation and meals for the full duration, all training activities, and the Youthpass certificate. Participants will be supported by experienced trainers, including Erma Georgiou, Boghos Avetikian, and Stephanie Rank.

If you are interested in joining this meaningful and transformative experience, please don’t hesitate to apply. This is a great opportunity to reconnect with nature, reflect on your personal growth, and gain tools to support young people in your community.
