ACPELIA and SKE Pissouri are looking for 5 youth workers/teachers/educators from Cyprus to participate in the Erasmus+ Professional Development Activity "Guardians of the Blue Forest – Youth Eco-Citizenship for Seagrass & Mangrove Protection", which will take place in Basse-Terre, Guadeloupe (France), from 30 November to 8 December 2026.

The Caribbean Sea hosts some of the world's most valuable marine ecosystems, including seagrass meadows, mangrove forests, and coral reefs. These ecosystems provide habitats for countless species, protect coastlines, support local communities, and contribute significantly to climate regulation through carbon storage. Unfortunately, they are increasingly threatened by pollution, climate change, unsustainable tourism, and other human activities.

The project aims to equip youth workers with knowledge, tools, and non-formal education methodologies that can be used to raise awareness about marine conservation and environmental sustainability among young people. Through workshops, experiential learning, role play, storytelling, creative advocacy, biodiversity mapping, eco-footprint challenges, field visits, and intercultural exchange, participants will explore practical ways to become active advocates for environmental protection.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for 5 motivated youth workers who:

•       Are actively involved in youth work, youth organisations, community initiatives, or non-formal education activities.

•       Have a genuine interest in environmental sustainability, biodiversity, climate action, marine conservation, eco-citizenship, or related topics.

•       Are willing to learn new non-formal education methods and environmental awareness tools.

•       Are motivated to organise dissemination and follow-up activities after the mobility.

•       Are interested in sharing the acquired knowledge with young people and local communities in Cyprus.

•       Are able to work in an international and intercultural environment.

Participants do not need to be environmental experts; however, a strong motivation to engage with the project's themes and contribute to environmental awareness initiatives is essential.
