ACPELIA is looking for 4 motivated youth workers, teachers, or educators from Cyprus to participate in both INK2IMPACT Professional Development Activities (PDAs):

🇱🇹 3–10 January 2027 in Ukmergė, Lithuania, and

🇨🇾 24 April–1 May 2027 in Pissouri, Cyprus.

The same participants will take part in both PDAs, following the complete learning journey from storytelling for social change to children’s book creation.

INK2IMPACT – Inclusive Narratives for Kids 2 Inspiring Meaningful Participation through Authored Children’s Tales is an Erasmus+ KA153-YOU Professional Development project bringing together youth workers from Lithuania, Cyprus, Ukraine, North Macedonia, Armenia, Georgia and Romania.

The project is built around one central idea: stories can become powerful tools for participation and social change.

Through two interconnected Professional Development Activities (PDAs), youth workers will explore how social issues affecting children and young people can be transformed into inclusive, age-appropriate stories and, eventually, into children's books that can be used in youth work, educational, and community settings.

🇱🇹 PDA 1 – Storytelling for Social Change

The first PDA will concentrate on storytelling as a non-formal education method. Youth workers will explore social issues, narrative thinking, character development, empathy, inclusion and representation and will begin developing stories that speak to children about real issues in an accessible and meaningful way.

❄️ A Lithuanian winter experience!

For our Cypriot participants, January in Lithuania will also bring a very different cultural and natural experience.

The accommodation is situated beside a lake which, under typical January winter conditions, may be completely frozen. ❄️

For people coming from Cyprus, experiencing a real Lithuanian winter and potentially seeing a frozen lake is something rather special — and certainly a memorable setting in which to begin our storytelling journey!

🇨🇾 PDA 2 – From Story to Book

The second PDA will take the process further: from the story to the actual book.

Youth workers will work with visual storytelling, illustration concepts, editing, text-image integration, layout, accessibility and publishing. The aim is to transform the ideas and stories developed through the project into meaningful children's books.

The project therefore moves progressively from social issue exploration → storytelling → creative development → visual production → children's books. This progression is part of the project's original learning design.

🔗 Two PDAs – One Learning Journey

A very important element of INK2IMPACT is continuity.

Youth workers selected for the Cyprus team must participate in BOTH PDAs.

The first and second activities are not independent training courses. They are two stages of the same professional development process.

Between Lithuania and Cyprus, participants will continue working together in their national team to refine their story, clarify its social message and target age group, develop the characters and storyline, gather visual ideas and prepare the material for the second PDA.

👥 Who can participate?

The call is addressed to youth workers / teachers / educators from Cyprus (living in Cyprus) who are interested in developing their competences in non-formal education, storytelling, inclusion, diversity, creative writing, children's educational activities, youth participation and digital/visual creativity.

Previous professional experience in writing or illustration is not required. What is important is an active interest in youth work, motivation to learn and create, willingness to cooperate in an international environment, and commitment to participate throughout the complete project process.

Participants should therefore be available for:

✨ From an Idea to a Children's Book

INK2IMPACT is not simply about attending two Erasmus+ activities.

It is about giving youth workers practical tools that they can take back into their everyday work with young people.

A social issue identified at the beginning of the project can become a story.A story can become a book.And a book can become a tool for dialogue, empathy, inclusion and participation.

From the winter landscape of Ukmergė 🇱🇹❄️ to spring in Pissouri 🇨🇾☀️, the same group of youth workers will experience the complete creative journey together.
