What we have done?
š Pissouri, Cyprusš 11ā13 August 2026
Three days full of movement, smiles, teamwork and positive energy came to an end in Pissouri!
The Active Sport Festival 2026Ā brought children, young people, adults and families together for three afternoons dedicated to sport, physical activity, healthy living and community participation.
Organised by ACPELIA in collaboration with Xenia Fitness Club (XFC), and with the support of the Youth Board of CyprusĀ and the Pissouri Community Council, the festival aimed to create an open and welcoming environment where people of different ages could be active, try something new and, most importantly, enjoy being together.

Rather than focusing only on competition, the philosophy of the festival was simple:
š MOVE. PLAY. CONNECT.
Throughout the three days, the Pissouri football ground became a lively meeting place filled with sport, dance, fitness, games, creativity and activities for children.
šµ DAY 1 ā TUESDAY, 11 AUGUST
A Dynamic Beginning!

The first afternoon set the atmosphere for the whole festival, with children and adults immediately getting involved in the different activities.
š„ Survivor Challenge | 17:00ā19:00
The three-day Survivor experience began with children taking on different physical challenges and obstacles. Running, climbing, balancing and completing challenges gave them the opportunity to test themselves while encouraging teamwork, determination and, above all, enjoyment.
š VK Dance Studio | 18:00ā19:00
Movement continued through dance with VK Dance Studio. Children took part from 18:00ā18:30, followed by the adults from 18:30ā19:00. Music and dance brought another dimension to the festival, showing that being physically active can also be creative, expressive and social.

One of the special features of Day 2 was an interactive nutrition activity for both adults and children.

š©āš³ Kids & Healthy Cooking | 19:00ā20:00

š MORE THAN THREE DAYS OF SPORT
The Active Sport Festival 2026Ā was not simply about exercising or competing.
It was about creating a space where children could play, adults could become active, families could participate together and members of the community could meet one another through positive shared experiences.
Over the three days, sport was combined with dance, fitness, nutrition education, creativity and games. Different generations participated side by side, reinforcing the idea that an active and healthy lifestyle should be accessible, enjoyable and inclusive.
The photographs from the festival tell this story better than words: children challenging themselves, people dancing and exercising together, football on the pitch, colourful faces, laughter, movement and many spontaneous moments of connection.
For ACPELIA, local activities such as this are also an important part of building a stronger community and encouraging participation, inclusion, wellbeing and healthy lifestyles through experiential activities.
š THANK YOU!
A three-day festival like this is possible because many people contribute their time, knowledge, enthusiasm and energy.
A warm thank you to Xenia Fitness Club (XFC)Ā for the collaboration and to everyone who contributed to the different activities and helped us bring the programme to life.
We also sincerely thank the Youth Board of CyprusĀ and the Pissouri Community CouncilĀ for their support.
And, most importantly, thank you to every child, young person, adult, family, volunteer, trainer and participant who joined us during these three days.
You transformed a programme of activities into a real community celebration.
We hope that everyone left the festival with good memories, new experiences and perhaps a little more motivation to keep moving and staying active.
š MOVE. PLAY. CONNECT.
See you at our next activity!
